Rental Policy
Thank you for your reservation with the Official Vacation Provider for WaterSound Beach.
We look forward to welcoming you to one of our unique vacation rentals nestled discreetly behind towering dunes along one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. To assist you in having an enjoyable WaterSound Beach experience, we would like to share the following information about the community.
Accommodations
Our accommodations are privately owned, individually decorated and completely furnished including fully-equipped kitchens, washers and dryers and stocked with linens. Properties are stocked with an initial supply of paper products, garbage bags, and detergents.
Deposit/Guarantee Policy
One-bedroom GateHouse accommodations require a deposit of one night's room & tax at the time of booking to guarantee a reservation. Two through five-bedroom residences require a fifty percent (50%) advance deposit of all rental fees including lodging, tax, departure housekeeping fee and non-refundable processing fee at the time of booking your reservation. The remaining 50% balance is due upon check in.
Age Requirements
No rentals will be made to individuals under the age of 25 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Any reservation made under false pretenses will be subject to forfeiture of advance deposit. Further, the party will either not be permitted to check in or will be asked to vacate the property.
Cancellation Policy
One-bedroom GateHouse accommodations require a 7-day advance notice of cancellation for a refund of one night's room & tax. Two through five-bedroom residences require a 30-day advance notice of cancellation for a refund of your deposit (less the non-refundable booking fee). Should you have to cancel your reservation within 30 days of your arrival date, you will forfeit your entire deposit. Should you have to shorten the length of your stay within 30 days of arrival, you will forfeit 100% of all unused nights.
For reservations made within 30 days of arrival, cancellation or changes must be made no later than 24 hours after making the reservations to avoid penalty.
A transfer to another accommodation is considered a cancellation.
There are no refunds for early departures.
Travel Insurance
You can now purchase travel insurance for your stay through Red Sky which can cover your vacation investment if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip because of severe weather, family illness, medical emergencies and other unexpected incidents. The cost is 7% of your total stay. Damage Protection
WaterColor Resort Vacation Rentals charges a $45 non-refundable damage protection fee at the time of booking your reservation that provides coverage for accidental damages to your vacation rental accommodation during your stay with us. This damage protection does not cover and guests are responsible for any willful or negligent behavior that results in damages including but not limited to smoking, theft and pet occupancy.
Rates
Please be advised that WaterSound Beach Vacation Rentals charges a cleaning fee, a non-refundable $45 reservation processing fee and a $30/nt resort fee in addition to your rental rate. The cleaning fee is per stay and is as follows: 1Bdrm = $135, 2 Bdrm = $180, 3 Bdrm = $225,4 bdrm = $280, 5 bdrm = $315, 6 bdrm = $385. There is no cleaning or reservation fee when staying in a One Bedroom Gatehouse accommodation. The Resort fee amenities include: Complimentary access to the gulf-front WaterSound Beach Club including towel service, daily use of the clay tennis courts and daily beach chairs and umbrellas as well as access to Puttering Park, Camp Creek Golf Club and Shark's Tooth Golf Club. Only available for guests of WaterSound Beach Vacation Rentals.
Reservations are encouraged and accepted up to one year in advance. Weekly rates are based on 7 nights and include one mid-stay linen exchange. Daily rates and packages are available. Winter monthly rates are available, to begin on the first of every month and include housekeeping service bi-weekly. Packages do not include alcohol and gratuity. Any unused portion of a package is non-refundable. A non-refundable departure cleaning fee is required. This fee covers full cleaning of the cottage after your departure.
All rates, fees and policies are based on availability, subject to applicable sales tax and subject to change without notice. Certain restrictions may apply.
Unavailability of Accommodation
In the event your accommodation becomes unavailable (i.e. residence sold, removal from rental program, acts of nature, mechanical failures or other reasons beyond our control) we will make every effort to substitute a comparable residence. If a comparable home is not available, you will have the option of selecting from other available accommodations at the published rate.
Amenities
Your stay at WaterSound Beach includes complimentary use of tennis courts and beach chairs at WaterSound Beach Club (based on availability). As a WaterSound guest, you are also entitled to access to both Camp Creek and Shark's Tooth Golf Clubs as well as access to the WaterSound BeachClub. For stays seven nights or longer, you will receive a mid-stay cleaning service. Bicycle Additional housekeeping services are available at an additional cost. Rollaway beds are not allowed.
Check In
Begins at 4 p.m. at the WaterColor Inn located about 6 miles west of WaterSound at 34 Goldenrod Circle in Santa Rosa Beach, just off of County Hwy 30-A. For more detailed directions or to alert us of your late arrival, please contact the WaterColor Inn Front Desk at 850-534-5000.
Check Out
Check out is by 10 a.m. (CST) at the WaterColor Inn.
A late departure is subject to an additional fee equal to one night's room and tax.
Construction
WaterSound Beach is a growing community with construction beginning at 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. We will make every effort to notify you of any nearby construction at the time of booking but please keep in mind that we are unsure of construction start dates and completion dates.
Housekeeping
For stays of seven nights or longer you will receive a mid-stay linen exchange. This service includes a change of bed linens, towels, replacement of amenities, removal of trash, and loading of dishwasher. For stays less than seven nights, please contact Housekeeping directly to arrange for services for a fee at 850.231.7163.
Pets
Pets are prohibited in all WaterSound Beach homes and residences except for designated accommodations at the GateHouse. We are happy to recommend area kennels should you require this assistance. Failure to follow pet policies will result in a minimum $250 charge for additional housekeeping and/or damages.
Units 201 & 207 at the WaterSound GateHouse are designated as "pet friendly".
- There is a non-refundable pet fee of $100.00 due upon arrival.
- Pets are not to be left unattended in the unit due to potential noise (barking and whining) so they will not be a nuisance to other guests in the building.
- Guests will be responsible for any pet damages and/or additional cleaning.
- Pets must be housebroken, any damage left by a pet will be charged to the owner.
- Pets must be 50lbs or less.
- Domestic pets only (dogs, cats, etc.) Birds and hamsters must be caged at all times. No exotic pets please.
- Pet must be on a leash while in public spaces.
- Owner is responsible for cleaning up after your pet in all outdoor areas.
- Please be advised that Walton County does not allow pets on the beach unless you are a resident with a permit. For more details on this ordinance click here.

Occupancy
Maximum allowed occupancies are stated in all accommodation descriptions and are based on the number of bedrooms and existing bedding offered. Rollaway beds are not allowed.

Smoking is prohibited in all WaterSound Beach homes and residences. Failure to follow smoking policy will result in a minimum $250 charge for additional housekeeping and/or damages.
Hurricane Evacuation
A refund of any unused portion of your stay will be issued in the event of a mandatory evacuation of South Walton County. There are no refunds due to inclement weather or voluntary evacuations.
Damages
You will be held responsible and charged accordingly for any damage, repairs or neglect of the home you are renting. This includes but is not limited to smoking, pet occupancy and theft.
Lost and Found
Although we cannot be held responsible for items left behind, we do make every effort to locate and return forgotten items to you. If notified, found items will be sent by charging shipping fees to a major credit card.
